Character Animator Wanted

I am looking for an experienced Character Animator for a 1 minute short. The script is a very simple one character animation of a Smiley face (you know, the ubiquitous yellow one). Due to the simplicity, I anticipate it to be challenging. It hinges totally on the performance of that one character and needs to be a clean, focused and emotionally truthful performance. It’s a one-shot scene, essentially under 60 seconds. The purity and brevity means there’s nowhere to hide mistakes. It’s 100% visual and action has to carry a whole story.
There will be payment and I have budgeted $500-1000 (+GST), depending on factors such as the experience of the animator and how long the production process goes for. Although scripted as minimalist in style and likely best suited to a 2D animator, I’m far more interested in expressiveness, creativity and ability as an animator than on a specific appearance (2D/3D, digital/hand-drawn etc). I’m looking for someone who has the ability to perform with authenticity and passion through their animated characters. My own background is as a broadcast designer, so I have a lot of experience in some areas of animation and not just with character.
