Westgarth Film Festival
Deadline 18th October
The historic Palace Westgarth Cinema is hosting the second Westgarth Film Festival in 2007 from 6th until the 9th of December. With a super-sized combo of celluloid treats featuring short films, filmmaker workshops, cinema tours, movie trivia and live film scores, the Westgarth Film Festival gives good reason to switch off the telly and head to the cinema!
The Palace Westgarth Cinema welcomes two new initiatives to this year‚s festival to bring the best short films from Australia and abroad to the big screen – the 10 Minute Wonder Programme for those 18 and over, and the Young Guns Programme for those 17 and under. Entries are open for both categories so if you fancy yourself a budding auteur, the Palace Westgarth Cinema invites you to strut your cinematic stuff. Judges from NiceShorts, Palace Cinemas and Yarra Trams will be on the lookout for films that make audiences think, laugh or cry, films with heart. It’s not about awarding entries with big production values or big name actors, the judging panel wants to be surprised by everything from animation to live action. The top short films will be selected to showcase throughout the Westgarth Film Festival. All entrants will also have their work submitted to NiceShorts.com.au for viewing online after the event.
Entries close on Thursday 18th October so head on over to www.westgarthfilmfestival.com.au for submission criteria and entry details.
