NIDA Playwright Studio
Part-time Course
The NIDA Playwrights Studio is a year-long part-time course designed to develop skills in writing professionally for performance. Through an emphasis on practical workshops, the course provides a focus on the principles of dramatic writing and dramaturgy, including characterisation, dialogue, action, conflict, sub-text, structure, narrative technique and much more. Studio participants have access to NIDA’s facilities, resources and expertise, including attendance at over 20 NIDA play productions during the year. A major component of the course requires participants to develop a short play over the year, culminating in a rehearsed reading to an invited audience.
Entry is by application and interview. Applications close Friday 2 November 2007.
