Marrickville Film Festival 2007

14th and 15th September

The films are in and the stage is being prepared. Join us over the 14th and 15th of September at the Addison Rd Centre (142 Addison Rd Marrickville) as we celebrate filmmaking among students, filmmakers and artists in the area. On Friday night we will hold the Marrickville Short Film Competition from 7pm at Sidetrack Studio Theatre. Following this will be a screening of political net films and a review, by a member of GetUp,of the explosion of web-based films in the climate surrounding APEC and the Federal Election.

On Saturday night we will be hosting a special moonlight screening of the 1966 classic ‘They’re a Weird Mob’. Famous for sayings like Kings “bloody”, this quintessential Sydney film explores the baffling and often comic encounters between Australians and Immigrants in the 1950s and 60s.

We will also screen the best of the shorts. 7pm, grassy area behind the Addison Rd Centre hall. BBQ & food stalls. Bring friends, family and a picnic rug. No entry fee for both nights!

Marrickville Film Festival is sponsored by Marrickville Council, Addison Rd Centre, Art Resistance Community TV, Sidetrack Studio Theatre, Addison Rd Gallery, Reverse Garbage, the Manic Times & the Watershed.
